This year will see a host of new releases, beginning with the new Andy Panayi CD - 'Solar Cats' featuring Andy on saxes, flute and recorders, along with longtime band members Mark Nightingale on trombone, Simon Woolf on Bass and Steve Brown on drums. The CD is choc full of interesting originals and performances which attest to a maturity and improvisational freedom rarely heard on these shores.
The next CD is the stunning Woodville Records debut for Jim Hart - 'Words And Music. His quartet featuring Ivo Neame on piano, Mick Coady and Tristian Maillot on drums play some beautifully challenging originals and fresh interpretations of lesser known standards; the interplay is quite extraordinary.
